Question 1

Does every board have one answer?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Before a board is used, a solver works from the grid, the numbers and the walls alone and keeps the board only if exactly one route fits.

Question 2

Can I play again after I solve it?

Accepted Answer

No. Scenic Route is one board a day. You can restart an unsolved board as often as you like, but once it's solved the result is locked in and the next board arrives at midnight, your time.

Question 3

What is a clean route?

Accepted Answer

A solve with no backtracking and no restarts: every cell you drew stayed drawn. Hints don't count against it.

Question 4

What does a hint do?

Accepted Answer

It highlights the next cell of the solution from where your route stands. If your route has already strayed, it circles the last cell that was right and shows the step to take from there. The results card notes how many you used, and that's all.

Question 5

Where are my streak and best time saved?

Accepted Answer

In your browser's localStorage: your daily streak, how many boards you've solved, your fastest solve and your count of clean routes. They never leave your device.

Question 6

Can I play with a keyboard?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Tab to the board, then use the arrow keys to draw from the end of your route (the first press starts on the 1). Backspace takes the last cell back.
